About
We are The Oxford Shooting Stars, Oxfordshire's premier recreational ice hockey club now in its 7th year.

Coach and founder, Peter Smith, set out in 2010 to start the club with one aim in mind - everyone can play.
To this day the ethos of the club has remained solid. Over 50 players from all abilities and nationalities have registered to play in the coming season and many more come just to train and keep fit.

Now in its 7th year The Oxford Shooting Stars Ice Hockey Club is held in high regard by its peers, players, management and sponsors.
After a couple of years in the early days developing the team and playing in domestic tournaments in the UK, Peter decided to take the team's efforts international and in 2014 the Oxford Shooting Stars placed 3rd in the Lyon Ice Hockey Tournament.
In 2015 the team returned to Lyon to defend their position and returned to the UK as winners - taking the gold trophy across the English Channel for the first time in the tournament’s history.

Despite placing 5th overall in 2016 in the French tournament the team look forward to returning in 2017 to have another go at some trophies.
The Shooting Stars also placed 2nd overall in the 2016 Deke Sports Challenge Cup against some of the staunchest competition the team has faced. A result to be immensely proud of and the team look forward to it all kicking off again in 2017.
The club has grown immensely over the last few years but there's always space for those who want to get into the sport. We cater to a wide range of abilities from those who have never skated on ice before to ex-players returning to the sport.
